With an all-star line-up of speakers, this year’s BSB October Conference is our most bakery focused yet, but there’ll be something for everyone on October 11th this year.
Each year, the BSB conference brings together bakers and industry experts from across the globe to share ideas and meet new friends. In recent years the conference has featured many papers on novel ingredients, enzymes, and new technologies. This year’s revamped conference, however, will focus on more ‘traditional’ aspects of the vocation, such as innovation and trading on a larger scale.
This change is very much the culmination of years of hard work from the executive committee, aimed at returning the BSB to its roots as a forum for promoting knowledge sharing, education and camaraderie across the industry. As baking continues to evolve, yet remains a firmly traditional craft, so too must the organisations supporting the trade embrace new trends and conventional wisdom alike.
One way we have attempted to do this at the BSB is to seek, and act on, feedback from our ever-growing member base. As the Society represents and serves an increasingly diverse group of bakers, millers, wholesalers, food scientists, distributors, & many more related professions, we rely on your feedback to ensure we meet our founders’ aims of bringing the industry together for the mutual benefit of all.
In that vein, we have put together a fantastic line-up of speakers from across the baking spectrum to ensure that our 2017 Autumn Conference meets the ever-changing needs of our members.
There’ll be plenty of the usual fun as well, with the pre-conference dinner and networking reception on Tuesday, October 10th, with entertainment from Edinburgh Festival smash-hit George Zack.
On Wednesday, the conference will follow our usual format, with presentations from Grupo Bimbo’s Cliff Irwin, Pain Paillasse’s Christian Pelisson, 2016 Scottish Baker of the Year, Gordon McGhee, The National Bakery School & more!
The Autumn Conference will return to last year’s fantastic venue, Woodland Grange Hotel on October 10th and 11th.
Tickets for the event are on sale now, just click here to buy online or download a booking form. We usually sell out quickly, so get yours today.

We look forward to seeing members new and old in October for what is shaping up to be our best conference yet.
